Does it need the body to define a garment? Do garments need to define or even shape the body? How can body proportions be distorted by garments?

This collection shows wide and padded pieces that would modify the body.

Empty and unworn, one might think, the volume of the body is missing, as is the boundary where body and garment can rub against each other, the stability that brings them into shape. Proportions become unrecognisable, the body is lost in volume and pattern. Body and garment meet in a peculiar way, they serve each other and yet are self-sufficient in form and function.
